On 07 November 2011 a Butlers Bridge Neighbour Watch Committee was formed. Community Alert is about raising the alertness and awareness of everybody to the presence of any person or vehicle acting suspiciously and reporting it to the Gardai. It promotes good neighbourliness and self reliance, community safety and accident prevention, to procure and enhance personal safety and good quality of life.
Butlers Bridge Community Alert Group is supported by local Gardai and Muintir na Tire.
Activities currently being developed include:
- Fundraising - the Committee is hoping to secure grant aid funding to assist with costs including practical items such as Community Alert signage, security advisory booklets etc.
- Public Meeting to launch Community Alert Scheme
