The occasion was the great man`s 60th birthday and a surprise party in Con Smiths lounge on Sunday night 7th August. Martin Smiths group from Killashandra provided the music and there was guest appearances by Mrs Duffy. Sean Brown, John Flynn and Hughie himself who all sang. Ger Hennessy on guitar and Danny McGovern on bodhrán provided additional backing and a good night was had by all. Pictures by Dermot Walsh.
