Successful Table Tennis teams return home with medals galore!
Students past and present from Butlersbridge National School who represented Cavan and Ulster in the All Ireland Community Games finals in Mosney today return to the 'Bridge in high spirits following a very successful day's competition.Under 13 girls team of Helen McDermott(capt) Aoibhfinn Bartley, Brianna McGovern, Rebecca Thompson and Roisin Leddy played superbly, easily winning their semi-final against Roscommon this morning and returned in the afternoon to beat the Kerry team in straight sets creating history by being the first U 13 girls team to will the gold medals.Silver medal winners boys Under 13, Shane O'Rourke(capt), Liam Connolly, Dylan Bartley, Jamie McEnroe and Caoimhin O'Reilly made short work of their semi-final and returned to take on Cork in the Final. Despite their best efforts which saw some very closely contested matches they were unable to overcome the Cork team .Final match of the day was the Under 16 girls team of Eadaoin O'Reilly(capt), Elizabeth McKeever, Hannah McKenna and Fiona Callaghan in the final against the Dublin team . Having played some tough matches they were worthy recipients of the Silver Medals. Pictured here are all the players with Coaches Terry Leddy and Magella Callaghan. Well done to all!
